Outdoor Adventure Program Expands with New Partners

April 24, 2015 by Jamie Burch

YES youth will have the opportunity to fish, sail, and more with the new Harbor Explorers program!
This summer, YES will offer a new paddleboarding program and a new Harbor Explorers program as part of Outdoor Adventure thanks to new partnerships with Save the Harbor, Save the Bay and with Piers Park.
Through a partnership with Save the Harbor, Save the Bay, a small group of YES volunteers participated in the 5th Annual Cupid Splash on Saturday, March 21st. The group of six volunteers pledged to jump into the frigid waters of the M Street Beach and raised more than $6,000 collectively. The funds raised will be used to establish a  new paddleboarding program, which YES will offer this summer at Carson Beach.
Another exciting new program YES will offer this summer is The Harbor Explorers program. The Harbor Explorers program will be offered through a partnership with Piers Park to youth ages 6 to 9 . Youth participating in the program will take part in a week of full day programming at Piers Park, including sailing, yoga, fishing, lobster trapping, and marine science lessons.
YES Director of Programs Bernadette says, “We are excited about expanding and deepening the impact of our summer programming through new partnerships. Is it an exciting time to be a part of YES as we continue to grow each season as an organization.” To learn more about Outdoor Adventure, click here.
