Parent Volunteers

Applications for Operations SnowSports Volunteers are now open. Click here to apply for this season!

The parent volunteer role creates an opportunity for guardians to actively engage in the YES community through meaningful volunteer work.  With a commitment more conducive to a parent’s schedule than the standard snow sports volunteer role, the Parent Volunteer role offers flexible scheduling and an achievable number of volunteer days, at 3 per season.  This role will aim to engage 90% persons of color and be offered to parents of registered Operation SnowSports participants after enrollment is complete. One goal of this volunteer opportunity is to increase the accessibility and diversity of our volunteer pool in accordance with our strategic plan.

At the Mountain Volunteers:

On the Snow: Parents who wish to assist with snack distribution and loading processes, monitor behavior on the bus, encourage youth on the snow, ski or snowboard with a class (learners welcome), assist coaches with behavior management.

Or in the Lodge: Parents who wish to assist with snack distributions and loading processes, monitor behavior on the bus, act as a Lodge Mom/Dad who engages nonskiing youth with games and conversation.
