YES Scavenger Hunts

In spring 2020, A YES scavenger hunt came to a park near you! Youth got outside, explored, and found the sidewalk chalk messages from YES! Check out the details below to learn more about our scavenger hunts!

Youth and families welcome.

Thursdays (may change due to weather). Week of May 18th- Week of June 22nd.

Locations:

  • Dorchester: Hemenway Park
  • Roxbury: Malcolm X Park, Franklin Park at Blue Hill Ave and American Legion Hi-way, and Franklin Park at the Giraffe Zoo entrance
  • Mattapan: Harambee Park near Talbot Ave and Helen St
  • Jamaica Plain: Southwest Corridor across from Stony Brook MBTA Station
  • Roslindale: Pagel Playground
  • South Boston: Medal of Honor Park

Time: Scavenger hunts will be set up by noon-time, and can be completed any time throughout the day. Instructions will be sent out via email on the day of the hunt to all registered.

Weekly Scavenger Hunt Notes:

Week 4 – Thursday, June 11th

The YES Riddle Hunt is all set up and ready to be solved. Get out there before the rain washes it all off later this afternoon. Each park has three different riddles. Email me the answers and let me know what park you went to. Feel free to take a picture or two and tag it on social media using #YESKidsBoston.

Dorchester: Hemenway Park

Roxbury: Malcolm X Park, Franklin Park at Blue Hill Ave and American Legion Hi-way, and Franklin Park at the Giraffe Zoo entrance

Mattapan: Harambee Park near Talbot Ave and Helen St

Jamaica Plain: Southwest Corridor across from Stony Brook MBTA Station

Roslindale: Pagel Playground

Please follow Boston’s recommendations for being safe in parks. Remember to keep your distance and wear a mask.

Next week the scavenger hunt will take place on Thursday. You will receive an email with information once the parks are set up.

Week 3 – Thursday, June 4th

The YES Riddle Hunt is all set up and the riddles are ready to be solved. Each park has three different riddles. Email Eric the answers at [email protected] and let him know what park you went to. Feel free to take a picture or two and tag it on social media using #YESKidsBoston, we’d love to see them!

Dorchester: Hemenway Park, Robert E Ryan Playground, and Neponset River Reservation

Roxbury: Malcolm X Park, Franklin Park at Blue Hill Ave and American Legion Hi-way, and Franklin Park at the Giraffe Zoo entrance

Mattapan: Harambee Park near Talbot Ave and Helen St

Jamaica Plain: Southwest Corridor across from Stony Brook MBTA Station

Roslindale: Pagel Playground

It looks like it might start raining, so get out before all the chalk is washed away!
