YES College Prep Program Visits Six Schools over April Vacation

May 9, 2016 by Jamie Burch Leave a Comment

This April, twelve YES teens participated in a week-long April Vacation College Tour as part of YES’s College Prep Program. YES teens visited six schools in seven days during April break, including Champlain College, NYU, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, St. Michael’s University, UMass Amherst, and Yale University.

Yale

For many YES teens, college tours are both a financial burden and a time constraint for their families and the YES College Tour is their only opportunity to tour schools. The YES College Tour, offered at just $100 with financial scholarships available, gives YES teens the opportunity to go on private college tours with YES. During the tours, YES teens learn about campus life, the college admission process, and options for financing both a public and private education. One YES teen remarked, “I was surprised to find out that Yale can give you a full ride if your family’s income is under $65,000!”

This June, 100% of high school seniors in YES Academy program will graduate high school and plan to enroll in college. YES will open enrollment for the College Prep program and four year College Prep Cohort Program in August.
