Development Coordinator
About the Position
We are seeking a professional, thoughtful, and detail- oriented Development Coordinator to join its fundraising team. This is a hybrid position with an expectation of 3-4 days per week in the Boston office.
The position fulfills a critical function at YES and contributes significantly to the organization’s fundraising activities with a focus on events and administrative support to the Senior Director of Development. The individual will be a key member of the Development team and help achieve YES’s philanthropic goals as outlined in the organization’s Strategic Plan. We are seeking candidates who can work in a fast-paced, small team environment and have a sincere interest in furthering the YES mission!
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the coordination of fundraising events and teams at YES, including: Annual Black Diamond Gala and other signature fundraising events, Boston Marathon, Rodman Ride, MR8K (Team YES), Martin Richard Memorial Mile
- Serve as a staff liaison to the Gala Planning Committee and work closely with the committee’s volunteer members to coordinate the Silent Auction
- Enter gifts and pledges into Raisers Edge NXT
- Run monthly reports for online gift contributions and third-party donation platforms.
- Manage the online donation webpage
- Write communications to donors, event guests, and other constituents
- Manage the gift acknowledgement letter process
- Serve as a staff liaison to the YES Young Professionals Committee and support theplanning of the Annual YES Trivia Night and Harbor Cruise
- Other administrative duties as assigned to support the department/office

Volunteer Coordinator
About the Position
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible for the overall support of the 150+ volunteers that are active in YES year-round programs, as well as leading inclusive recruitment, training & professional development, and onboarding efforts. This is a full-time, in-person position. Directly supervised by the Outdoor Experiential Learning Manager.
Responsibilities
- Be an ambassador for YES and invite potential volunteers to join our mission, fulfill our vision and live our values
- Oversee outreach, recruitment, screening, orientation & onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision of all volunteers
- Commit to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEIB) principles to grow diversity of volunteers and oversee Volunteer Equity Committee (VEC)
- Develop and execute a year-round volunteer recruitment, training, and retention plan withthe Program Manager that aligns with the YES Strategic Plan and Racial Equity Plan
- Create an inclusive onboarding process and training program that builds community and promotes youth development best practices
- Connect and prepare volunteers for meaningful coaching opportunities with youth ages 6-18
- Engage in a continuous quality improvement process with YES staff and leadership to communicate feedback, success, and challenges of the volunteer program
- Celebrate volunteer accomplishments through both formal and informal channels (ie. events, awards, recognition milestones, etc.)
- Work with Operations team and YES Academy Managers to curate meaningful trainings and experiences between Leadership Corps (high school students) and adult volunteers during Operation Snow Sports
- Collaborate with staff and partners to provide learning and professional opportunities to volunteers around outdoor experiential education, youth development, and YES specific activities (biking, rock climbing, padding, and snow sports)
- Organize a regular schedule of communication to volunteers through email, Slack, newsletters, and other tools to ensure volunteers remain connected and are aware of all opportunities to participate at YES
- Provide periodic evaluations to volunteers

Equipment & Outdoor Instruction Coordinator
About the Position
The Equipment & Outdoor Instruction Coordinator oversees all aspects of the onsite YES Ski & Snowboard Rental Shop, as well as maintains all year-round program equipment. Additionally, this position participates in direct youth development opportunities, as well as volunteer training and support. This is a full-time, in-person position. Directly supervised by the Outdoor Experiential Learning Manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the ski and snowboard rental shop experience for youth and volunteers
- Maintain a rental shop schedule that meets program needs and manage ongoingshop operations
- Ensure quality control and safety of all ski and snowboard rentals and conduct skishop specific training for adult and Leadership Corps (LC) volunteers
- Collaborate with the Equipment Manager Consultant to uphold industry standards,assess inventory, host internal clinics, and submit orders with manufacturers
- Supervise adult and Leadership Corps (LC) volunteers, and staff during scheduledshop nights
- Assess the needs and acquire necessary equipment, supplies and tools thatadhere to approved budgets for all programs and complete equipment audits atleast bi-annually
- Track all rented, donated, purchased, and sold equipment
- Maintain accurate equipment inventory, including but not limited to rental shopequipment, kayaks, canoes, bikes, rock-climbing gear, etc.
- Collaborate with the Volunteer Coordinator and YES Academy Manager to co-leadequipment, skill development and risk management trainings to prepare direct service staff and volunteers to lead outdoor activities in Operation Snowsports (OS) and Outdoor Adventure (OA) programs
- Facilitate year round, out-of-schooltime outdoor recreation programs as scheduled, including scheduled overnight programs
- Maintain recreation specific certifications applicable to our Outdoor Adventure and Operation Snowsports programs
