Adult role models are a crucial element of youth development so thank you for taking the first steps in supporting the success of our young people. There are multiple ways in which Career Exploration Volunteers have an impact at YES. Below are four categories of programs in which we rely on the passion and expertise of our volunteers:
Skill Development Workshops: Workshops are an opportunity to help our youth understand the value of various professional skills and how those skills are utilized in the working world.
Mock Interview and Networking Nights: Held regularly throughout the year, these events give volunteers the opportunity to help students develop their interviewing and networking skills in a fun and supportive environment.
Outdoor Adventure Trips: This program provides an opportunity for volunteers to connect with youth on a personal level while participating in activities such as hiking, rock-climbing, kayaking, canoeing, biking, and more.
Job Shadows: Job shadows give students a firsthand look at the world of work. Students use these experiences to help discover passions, choose college majors, and create connections for future internship opportunities.
