YES currently works with a selection of local schools and youth-serving groups to offer three types of 6 week intensive programs for youth ages 13 to 18. In each program a YES staff member facilitates a 90 minute session including workshops and activities that take place at the agency site during the day or after school. Youth will take away the necessary skills to become successful adults and leaders.
Career Exploration Intensive
The Career Exploration Intensive is a free 6 week program for youth ages 13 to 18. The program introduces youth to a variety of career paths
and builds critical skills needed to be competitive in today’s job market.
Workshops include:
- Interviewing
- Job Search & Networking
- Resume & Cover Letter writing
- Public Speaking
- Job Shadowing
- Career Fair
College Preparation Intensive
The College Preparation Intensive serves teenage youth in Boston schools and organization through workshops and one-on-one advising. This free 6
week program will help students develop and execute a plan of success by addressing individual goals and needs. After completing the intensive
students will be better able to make informed decisions about their future.
Workshops include:
- Learn to navigate college applications
- Build a strong college portfolio
- Gain first hand knowledge at college tours
- Discover opportunities through guided research
- Participate in student panel discussions
