On Monday, January 15, YES will celebrate MLK Diversity Day with Pats Peak at their annual Diversity Day celebration. Diversity Day at Pats Peak celebrates the work, spirit and vision of Martin Luther King. The event commemorates the importance of diversity, nondiscrimination, and freedom. 130+ YES kids will kick off the day skiing and snowboarding at Pats Peak in the morning and take part in the festivities in the afternoon. This will be the 16th Annual Diversity Day. Our 2018 Diversity Day will be especially meaningful as we will be celebrating diversity on the slopes and YES’s 50th anniversary with our partner mountain, Pats Peak.
YES alumni are invited to attend this year’s MLK Diversity Day with YES in celebration of YES’s fiftieth anniversary. Alumni will be invited to take part in the Diversity Day celebration with YES youth and staff after an afternoon of skiing and snowboarding. The Celebration’s speaking program will feature YES co-founder Mary Williams, and Pats Peak’s Director of Services and Diversity Day organizer, Jim Wall. The event will be a great opportunity to reconnect with fellow YES alumni and see YES’s Operation SnowSports program in action.
Alumni must RSVP through Eventbrite to attend. RSVPs include one lift ticket for YES alumni and a guest. For additional information on the event and questions, please contact Christine Brydges at [email protected]. The deadline to RSVP for this trip has been extended to Wednesday, January 10.
