Youth Enrichment Services (YES) hosted three Career Exploration Forums for teens in YES’s Leadership Corps programs. YES volunteers and members of the Board of Trustees and Advisory Council were among the professionals who attended the career forums.
Teens had the opportunity to learn from people from a variety of fields about their educational backgrounds, the interview process, their individual career paths, and how they set goals. In small groups, the young people asked specific questions about how they decided on their chosen career, what they did in high school and college to prepare, what other jobs they have had that led them to where they are now, and what a typical day at work is like. Teens were encouraged to network with the professionals and ask for their business cards.
Industries represented included veterinary sciences, health care, graphic design, sales, education, engineering, advocacy, real estate, insurance, biotech, and more.
