Youth Enrichment Services (YES) recently received a $80,000 Youth Programming Wellness grant from Target Corporation. The grant will help underwrite YES’s year-round sports-based programs and support an expansion of YES’s healthy eating initiative. Funding from Target will help over 900 YES youth be physically active in the outdoors, learn about nutritious food, and build healthy habits for life.
“Similar to Target, YES believes deeply in the transformative power of active outdoor activities and wellness education,” says Executive Director, Bryan Van Dorpe. “We are deeply grateful for a second year of generous financial support from Target. All of us at YES look forward partnering with Target to give even more Boston youth the opportunity to be active, eat healthy, and experience sports-based activities in the outdoors.”
Since its founding in 1946, Target Corporation has awarded 5% of its profits to community organizations and schools. Target’s corporate social responsibility strategy is grounded in the principle that wellness begins where people live, learn, work and play. Target’s Youth Programming Wellness Grant was established in Fall 2015 and funds programs that inspire youth and their families to eat healthy and be active as part of a lifelong approach to wellness.
