Youth Enrichment Services (YES) held their 2021 Virtual Annual Celebration on Monday, December 6. Nearly 100 supporters, volunteers, and friends tuned in to celebrate YES and its achievements throughout the year.

At the event, one new Advisory Council and eight new Board of Trustees members were announced:

New Advisory Council Members

New Board of Trustees Members
Nick Cayer

Johanna Fehrs
Ellee Mullard
Michael Preiner

Thank you to our special guest speakers:

  • City Councilor At-Large Julia Mejia for emphasizing the importance of providing youth with opportunity and sharing a bit about her experience with YES as a youth;
  • YES parent and Dorchester resident, Jasen Lambright, for sharing how the organization is positively impacting his family;
  • 16-year-old Bea R. for sharing her perspective as a teen in the YES Leadership Corps program and how YES has impacted her since her first skiing trip with YES when she was six years old.

Congratulations to the deserving recipient of the 2021 YES Champion Award, My’Kel McMillen, Youth Center Director at the Mildred C. Hailey Apartments in Roxbury. My’Kel has been partnering with YES to bring outdoor programs to youth who live in the housing development, most of whom have limited access to physical activity.
