The YES Academy umbrellas four year-round out-of-school programs committed to developing potential leaders through experiential learning, job training, volunteerism and role modeling. All applicants will be interviewed by they YES Academy Director.

Opportunities for teen volunteers:

College Preparation Program: Tutors willing to help 9th graders with high school level homework. We are looking for students with strengths and interests in a variety of subjects. Meets Tuesdays from 4-5 pm or 5-6 pm September 15th, 2015 to April 26th 2016.

Be sure to have your report card OR transcript ready before beginning the application.

Opportunities for adult (18+) volunteers:

Girls Outdoor Adventure Leaders: Females available to meet mid Saturday mornings for 9 weeks starting Oct through Feb or Feb through June. Volunteers lead small group activities and act as a positive role model for teenage girls Applicants must be comfortable talking to teens about body image, and gender specific issues. Fall start dates TBA

Career Exploration Program Professionals willing to attend youth presentations that occur once every 6 weeks for 5 months and communicate with youth over email to advise and guide them on their individual projects: Fall dates start: TBA

One Time Volunteer Opportunities: YES Academy also has many one-time volunteer opportunities You can help youth learn to network by mingling with teens during YES networking night, sit on one of our career panels or lead a workshop based on your skill set. Just communicate your strengths and availability during your interview and we’ll find a volunteer experience to match your lifestyle!
