Youth Enrichment Services (YES) recently received a $10,000 grant from the New Balance Foundation.
The grant will support YES’s four season Track & Field program for Boston youth. Every year, over 350 youth participate and are introduced to the principles of track & field and develop into active, healthy, and confident youth.
This summer, the Track & Field program is being extended to four nights per week, Mondays and Thursdays at Moakley Park in South Boston and Tuesdays and Wednesdays at English High in Jamaica Plain. Boston youth ages 6-13 will have the opportunity to connect with one another and develop confidence while learning new skills, such as running, throwing, and jumping.
YES’s Track & Field Program began in 2009 as a means to introduce urban youth to the principles of track and field and help them develop into active, healthy, and confident young people.
