Youth Enrichment Services (YES) Operation SnowSports volunteers recently had the opportunity to participate in an Anti-Racism training. This was an educational opportunity to provide new volunteers with a two hour, contextually appropriate and mission aligned training to discuss race/ethnicity, socioeconomics, gender/gender identity, sexual orientation, and trauma.
The training was hosted by the Snow Equity Collaborative, a newly formed partnership with four outdoor youth development organizations – YES, CHILL, Stoked Mentoring, and SOS Outreach. This training served as a framework for the Snow Equity Collective’s commitment to culturally competent positive youth development.
