Youth Enrichment Services (YES) is pleased to announce the appointment of new members to the Board of Directors, Board of Trustees, and Advisory Council. They come from diverse backgrounds and bring an array of new talents to the groups they will be serving on. They are taking the next step in their commitment to advancing the YES mission. Meet them now!
New Advisory Council Members
Washawn Castro – Washawn is a YES Alumni who participated in the teen leadership program and Operation Snowsports program throughout his youth. Washawn is a graduate of Boston Latin School and UMass Amherst. He is currently working as a Case Specialist for housing court and living in Boston. We are thrilled to welcome Washawn back to YES.
Alexis Greiner – Alexis is a former YES Trustee. She is a Vice President for Citizens Financial Group and lives in Newton.
Celeste Daye – Celeste is a former YES Trustee. She is an Executive Director for Grady Health System and lives in Atlanta, Georgia.
Bob Gaudreau – Bob is a long-time YES supporter and former YES Trustee. He is Managing Director at SVB Leerink and lives in Scituate.
New Board of Trustees Members
Geraldine Aine, JD – Geraldine is a former Operation SnowSports volunteer. In 2019, Geraldine ran the Boston Marathon as part of Team YES and fundraised over $10,000. Geraldine is employed as Counsel in the Special Investigations Unit at Liberty Mutual. She lives in New York.
Kalli Catcott, PhD – Kalli is a YES Track & Field volunteer coach. She has also participated on the Strategic Planning Committee. Kalli works in the pharmaceutical field as a Senior Scientist for Mersana Therapeutics. She lives in Boston.
Marie Daniel – Marie is a YES parent and also a Track & Field, Operation SnowSports, and Gala Planning Committee volunteer. Marie works for Boston University’s School of Public Health and lives in Cambridge.
Christopher Harris, MD – Christopher is an Operation SnowSports volunteer. He works for Vertex Pharmaceuticals as the Assistant Medical Director and lives in Boston.
Michele James, DVM – Michele is an Operation SnowSports volunteer and also serves on the YES Race & Equity Committee. Michele is a veterinary neurosurgeon at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital. She lives in Watertown with her daughter and husband, who is fellow Trustee Tim Janicki.
Tim Janicki – Tim is an Operations SnowSports volunteer who also serves on the YES Race & Equity Committee. Tim is employed as a Business Manager & Research Administrator with Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Bernadette Peeples – Bernie is the former Director of Programs at YES. She now volunteers with YES as a ski instructor on the Operations SnowSports program. Bernie lives in Marblehead with her husband and two children.
Chris Petryshin – Chris has been involved with YES for several years. He is a passionate skier and connects deeply with the YES mission to help underserved young people have a brighter future. Chris is Managing Director of VVA Consulting and lives in Hingham with his wife and two children.
Karenlee Saldana Martinez – Karenlee is an Operation SnowSports volunteer. She is a Funeral Director and Event Coordinator for Service Corporation International. Karenlee lives in Boston.
Alexis Savage – Alexis and her family have been involved with YES for many years. She is a YES Alumni who was a Junior Volunteer (now known as Leadership Corps) during high school. Alexis returned to the organization last winter as an Operation SnowSports volunteer.
Reneldy Senat – Reneldy has been volunteering with YES in a variety of capacities since 2017. He is a member of the Advisory Council and has served on the Gala Planning Committee. Reneldy works as a Senior Engineer with Aetna. Reneldy lives in Billerica with his wife and two children.
Mary Williams – Mary is the co-founder of YES with her husband, Richard Williams. Mary held many roles during her 30+ years at YES, including Chief Operations Officer and Program Director. Additionally, Mary led the organization as its second Executive Director from 2002-2008. Following her departure from YES, Mary worked for Habitat for Humanity and volunteered with several charities. Mary lives in South Carolina.
New Board of Directors Members
Rashaun Martin – Rashaun currently serves on the Board of Trustees and is also a YES parent. He works for Boston Public Schools as the Educators of Color Cultivation & Retention Specialist. Rashaun lives in East Boston with his wife, Andrea – who is also involved with YES as a Trustee – and his two daughters.
New Board Officers
Arnesse Brown – Arnesse is a YES Alumni and has been active at the Board level since 2011. She is the Corporate Relations Manager for Tenants Development Corporation. Arnesse lives in Hyde Park. She is a current Board of Directors member and will be serving as a Vice Chair.
Derek Fowler – Derek is a YES Alumni and has been active at the Board level since 2006. He is a City of Boston Firefighter and also co-owner of the Pit Stop Barbeque in Dorchester and several other entrepreneurial ventures. Derek lives in Peabody. He is a current Board of Directors member and will be serving as a Vice Chair.
