Partners YES and the Doug Coombs Foundation held their 2nd Annual YES Day at Nashoba Valley on Sunday, March 1st.The 2nd Annual YES Day kicked off with a YES donor appreciation breakfast in the morning and a brief presentation about YES and the Doug Coombs Foundation.
After breakfast, YES Executive Director Bryan Van Dorpe awarded the Doug Coombs Exploration Award to YES youth Jonathan V. The Doug Coombs Exploration Award, which honors the late Doug Coombs, is presented each year to a teen who is a positive role model, passionate about the outdoors and skiing, and who had a keen sense of adventure.
Jonathan has been a YES Junior Volunteer for four years and currently takes part in the College Preparation program. His leadership, courage and passion for snowsports made him an ideal candidate for the award. Jonathan thanked the Doug Coombs Foundation for the award, sharing, “Snowboarding is the sport that has pushed me to continuously better myself and to try new things.” Jonathan will be entering his senior year of high school at Boston Latin School. Next year, he will continue volunteering with YES as he embarks on the college application process.
